KR7W's KX1 with Paddlette's KX1 / PK-1 (Red Racer) mounting assembly

Photo shows the Paddlette PK-1 key with the KX1.

The PK-1 sits on the Paddlette PK-1 KX1 adaptor plate.  The PK-1 key has magnetic mount material on the bottom, as does the adaptor.

Paddlette provides all of the parts, including drill bit,  and instructions for easy assembly.  If a person can build this radio.... they can easily remove the bottom cover, drill a hole, and attach the PK-1 KX1 adaptor kit.

PK-1 key removed from the adaptor plate.

In the kit, Paddlette provides a new 1/8" stereo plug to solder to your key cable after you cut it short.  Also provided is a 1/8 inch stereo jack to solder on the remaining key cable so the key can be used on the "big rig".

This view shows a straight plug.  Paddlette is now providing a right angle plug to save room.

Photo shows how the mounting assy mounts to the bottom of the KX1.  Paddlette is providing  hex head screws that are tightened with a provided allen wrench.  The allen wrench stores on the magnetic pad.

The mounting assy can be orientated left, right, or middle by loosening / tightening the screw.

Note:  On this (my) you see four nuts. These nuts hold the battery trays in place... and are NOT part of the PK-1 KX1 kit.
